“In 2010, I presented ‘From Gharb Soheil’, my first solo exhibition that merged my commitment for environmental advocacy with my passion for photography. Supported by the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), this project marked the beginning of my journey using photography as a tool for environmental advocacy.

The exhibition captured the vibrant colours and natural beauty of Gharb Soheil, a village located south of Aswan. Through a series of photographs focusing on the village’s unique architecture, its people, landscapes and diverse birdlife, the exhibition showcased Gharb Soheil’s striking charm and uniqueness. My aim was to inspire a deeper appreciation for this special place and highlight the importance of preserving its cultural and natural heritage.

Several photographs from this exhibition were later selected for display at the 21st Youth Salon, organised by Egypt’s Ministry of Culture Fine Arts Sector.”
